Critical Care Fellowship

Accreditation status: Not accredited
Currently seeking accreditation.
Admission policy: All APP fellowship candidates partake in the same interview and screening process. Materials are submitted to the HR specialist and Program Director. APPs are admitted to our program based on the merit of their experience and skill set, quality of references, demonstrated interest in critical care, interviews with the Program Director/Medical Director, and interactions with program educators and staff.
Requirements for Fellowship Applicants
Applicants must document that they have successfully completed a Physician Assistant program that is ARC-PA accredited, or a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program accredited by AACN, ANCC or AANP (If still in training, must show the intention of being accredited at completion of degree)
Education Requirements
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP): Must hold either a Doctoral or master’s degree in nursing. Degrees in related fields are not accepted. Must have current Iowa nursing license, certification in specialty area, and ARNP licensure in Iowa.
- Physician Assistant (PA): Must meet Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners requirements, including graduation from an accredited PA program and/or NCCPA certification.
Experience Requirements
- ARNP’s are required to hold current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa
- ARNP’s are required to hold current license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa
- PA’s are required to comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners and/or hold current certification by the NCCPA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

- 3–4 professional references who’ve worked directly with you in the last couple of years and are at the same level or higher.
