It is our distinct pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Harrison Gerdes as Director of Solid Organ Transplant Anesthesia. Dr. Gerdes brings a wealth of clinical expertise, academic accomplishment, and exemplary leadership to this role. His appointment reflects a sustained commitment to excellence in perioperative care and a longstanding dedication to advancing the practice of transplant anesthesia within our institution.

This appointment has been formally reviewed and approved by the OPTN–UNOS Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC), in addition to receiving the full endorsement of the Department of Anesthesia.

In parallel with this leadership appointment, we are establishing a dedicated Solid Organ Transplant Anesthesia team to further enhance the quality, consistency, and scope of care delivered to this complex patient population. Faculty with an interest in contributing to this specialized program are warmly encouraged to contact Dr. Gerdes.
